Today is birthday of noted singer Julie Sharmelee. On the occasion of her birthday, the day is usually celebrated. But last year and this year, considering the Covid-19 situation, there will be no programme
to celebrate the day.
Julie rendered numerous numbers of songs those were composed by noted music directors like Debendranath Chatterji, noted Pakistani music director M Salman Ashraf, Sheikh Sadi Khan, among others. The singer also rendered Urdu ghazals and songs, and modern Bengali songs which are telecasting internationally with M Salman Ashraf. During the corona pandemic, Julie is continuing rewaz, receiving talim (tranining) from her mentor and also lending her voice for new songs. She learned music from
Dr Sanjeeda Khatun, Niaz Mohammad Chowdhury, Azad Rahman, Ram Kanai Das.
