Holders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club further consolidated their claim to clinch the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League title beating Team BJMC by 4-1 goals in the 2nd leg match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.
With the day’s feat, Sheikh Jamal DC comfortably dominated the league table securing 36 points from 15 matches while Team BJMC remained at their previous credit of 12 points from 15 encounters.
In the day’s match, midfielder Sohel Rana put Sheikh Jamal DC ahead in the 4th minute by a cool placing shot after receiving a cross from Wedson Anselme (1-0).
Haitian forward of Sheikh Jamal Wedson was unfortunate in the 25th minute as his cracking right footer hit the side post.
Skipper Samsom Ilyasu leveled the margin for Team BJMC in the 38th minute by his solo effort. Running from the midfield, the Nigerian went past Jamal defenders Didarul and Yamin and also dodged past Jamal goalie Mustaque before fired the net (1-1).
Sheikh Jamal regained the lead in the 60 minute as their Gambian midfielder Landing Darboe found the BJMC net by a powerful shot from the top of the box (2-1).
Emeka Darlington further sounded the Sheikh Jamal margin 3-1 in the 67th minute when Landing headed down a cross of Sohel Rana and the Nigerian made no mistake to put the ball into the net from the six-yard box (3-1).
Wedson scored the 4th goals for Sheikh Jamal in the stoppage time by his solo effort (4-1).
