World famed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan advanced to the 2nd position from third in ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings. The 28-year-old Bangladesh all-rounder secured 699 points to leave Australia’s Mitchel Starc behind. Shakib played 16 ODIs for 24 wickets in 2015. New Zealand left handed pace bowler Trent Boult secured the top slot in the ranking list, leading Shakib by seven points, said an ICC media release.In his international cricket career, he played 157 ODIs and grabbed 206 wickets conceding average 27.89 runs. Shakib had a decent year with steady performance in the last year as he picked up his maiden five-wicket haul for 47 runs in 10 overs against Zimbabwe in his 157th ODI on November 7, 2015. Besides, Shakib is now the leading wicket-taker for Tigers in Test and T20I formats. He captured 147 wickets from 42 Tests while bagged 50 wickets in 42 T20Is. On January 20, 2016, Shakib became the sixth player to score more than 8000 runs and capture 400 wickets in all three formats of international cricket. He joined a club that included Jacques Kallis, Sanath Jayasuriya, Shahid Afridi, Kapil Dev and Chris Cairns.Shakib reached the milestone during the third match of the four-match T20I series against Zimbabwe at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna. On his way to 402 wickets, Shakib played 42 Tests for 147 wickets, 157 ODIs for 206 wickets and 41 T20Is for 49 wickets.With the bat, Shakib scored 2823 runs in Test from 42 matches, 4398 runs in ODI from 157 matches while 897 runs from 42 matches in T20I format.
