Shahidullah Hall beat Salimullah Muslim Hall by a solitary goal in the opening match of the Inter-Hall Football Competition of Dhaka University (DU) at the Central Play Ground of DU on Thursday.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the football meet as the chief guest while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU and President of the Sports Board of DU Dr Shahid Akhter Hussain delivered his speech in the opening ceremony as the special guest.
President of Football Committee of DU Professor Dr Sheikh Shamimul Alam presided over the inaugural ceremony. The provosts of the different halls and the officials of DU and Physical Education Centre of DU were present at the time.
A total of 13 halls of DU are taking part in the football competition.
