Daffodil International University (DIU) has organized an international seminar on “Sustainable SME Development and Creating New Entrepreneurs in Bangladesh” on Tuesday at DIU Auditorium. Enterprise Competitiveness Institute of DIU, the Commonwealth Environmental Investment Platform (the CEIP), UK and Ice Start Up Pvt Ltd, India jointly organized the seminar.
Speakers at the seminar put emphasise on the importance of networking, collaboration and clustering for sustainable SME development and creating new entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. They stressed on empowering female entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Enterprise Competitiveness Institute of Daffodil International University & E2K – Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) was the chief guest while DIU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Lutfar Rahman was the special guest. Michael Sippitt, Chairman, the Commonwealth Environmental Investment Platform (The CEIP), UK was present in the seminar as the keynote speaker. Shankar Rele, CEO, Ice Start UP, India, Sukamal Sinha Choudhury, SME Faculty Consultant, BIBM and Bangladesh Bank delivered their speech as the guest of honor in the seminar. Tahsina Yeasmin, Lecturer of Department of English conducted the seminar.
Md. Sabur Khan said, DIU is going to introduce business incubator within two months for providing logistic supports to its students to become entrepreneur. He said, Money doesn’t matter to become an entrepreneur rather youths should come forward more with their innovative and noble ideas with spirit.
