Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Jagannath University (JnU) hosted a seminar titled “Liberation War and Journalism” in the Central Auditorium of the University on Thursday. The objectives of the seminar were rising awareness about journalism, importance of journalism in the present world and knowing the actual history of liberation war.
Pro Dr Mijanur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of JnU delivered speech as chief guest in the seminar. Pro Dr Saha Md Nisrat Jahan Kabir, Chairman of Mass communication and Journalism of the university, chaired the seminar. Former Information Commissioner of Prof Dr Gulam Rahman delivered speech as special guest.
Article on liberation war and journalism presented by freedom fighter and reputed journalist Harun Habib. Executive Secretary of Daily Smakal Newspaper Mustafiz Safi discussed on the article. Greeting speech delivered by
Associate Professor Obonti Mehraj gave the welcome speech while Lecturer Minhaj Uddin of Department of Mass communication and Journalism moderate the session. Besides, teachers and students of different department were present in the seminar.
