The Department of Law of the East West University (EWU) organized a seminar on ‘Legal Practice in Bangladesh’ on Sunday last at the EWU Campus, Aftabnagar in the capital. Senior Advocate Abdul Baset Majumder, Vice Chairman, Bangladesh Bar Council graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He provided an excellent guideline to the students of Law Department to become a successful lawyer. During the seminar, Baset Majumder answered a number of questions asked by the students regarding their enrollment criteria with the Bangladesh Bar Council. Abdul Baset Majumder has agreed that the Bangladesh Bar Council would consider proposal made by Prof Tureen Afroz of the Department of Law, EWU to initiate joint venture training programs and academic publications in collaboration with the Bangladesh Bar Council and the Department of Law, East West University.
The seminar was chaired by Dr Lutfun Nahar, Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Science, EWU. Amongst others, Dr Mahfuz, Chairperson, Department of Law, EWU, other faculty members and students of the department and several learned advocates of Bangladesh Supreme Court were present on the occasion.
