To mark the Mujib Birth Centenary celebration, Daffodil International University (DIU) in collaboration with the monthly education based magazine Education Watch organized a seminar titled ‘Education Philosophy and Education Thinking of Bangabandhu : Today’s Education System, Expectation and Challenge’ on Sunday at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International university (DIU).
National Professor and President, Muhib Birth Centenary implementation committee Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam, was present at the seminar as chief guest. Prof Dr Mezbauddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation Council inaugurated the seminar.
Besides, this Prof Dr Wahiduzzaman Chan, Former Vice Chancellor, Noakhali University of Science and Technology, Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU were present as the guest speakers.
Dr Mahbub Litu, Chairman, Department of Special Education, University of Dhaka presented the keynote speech in the seminar. Presided over by Dr Augustin Cruiz, Advisor of Education Watch, the seminar was also addressed by, Former Secretary Serajuddin Ahmed, Prof Dr Habba Khatun, and Md. Khalilur Rahman, Editor of Education Watch.
While addressing as the chief guest Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam reminded the forming of the Education Commission by Dr Qudrat e Khoda and said, Dr Kudrat-E-Khuda Education commission recommended introducing Bangla in all sector and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman approved that commission’s report too. But, unfortunately he was killed before implementation of the report.
He said, you cannot find any nation in the world which has developed without native language.
But, we are trying to develop without Bangla. This kind of initiative would never be succeeded.
Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam also said that Bangabandhu has nationalized the primary education.
At a time he nationalized more than 3600 primary school. Not only that, he also made a higher education commission for monitoring higher education. He upgraded the dignity and status of Teachers.
As a part of the celebration of ‘Muhib Birth Centrnary ‘, the Education Watch was organized a competition to proper spelling of Bangla. After the seminar, the guest were distributed prizes among the winner students.
