Department of Textile Engineering of Southeast University (SEU) organized a seminar titled “Bamboo Fibre: Extraction and its Distinctive Properties” through video-conference at its Conference Hall of the permanent campus recently.
Vice Chancellor of SEU Prof Anwar Hossain was present at the program as Chief Guest, while Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury remained as special guest.
Prof Emeritus of SEU Prof Dr M Shamsher Ali attended the program as guest of honor. Visiting Fellow of Deakin University, Australia Dr Engr Tarannum Afrin presented keynote paper through video conferencing.
Among others, Registrar of SEU Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, SPP, psc (Retd), Chief Coordinator of BOT, SEU Trust Wing Commander AHM Mostafa Morshed (Retd), Faculty Members and students of the department were present at the seminar.
Speakers at the seminar took part in a discussion with Dr Tarannum Afrin on different merits of bamboo fibre through the video conferencing. Dr Tarannum presented her topic through PowerPoint presentation from Australia and answered different questions of the speakers.
Speakers hoped that research of Dr Tarannum might contribute to the development of bamboo fibre as effective textile material.
