Schoolgirl killed allegedly after rape in Bhola

A gang of youths allegedly murdered a schoolgirl, 16, after violating her at a house at Uttar Bheduria village in Bhola Sadar upazila.
According to relatives and locals, the victim along with her cousin was staying at her uncle house during the incident.
A gang of four youths entered the house on Wednesday night and violated the girl repeatedly. Later, they strangled her and hung the body, the relatives and locals alleged.
As the victim’s cousin cried for help, local people rushed to the spot and found the body hanging inside the house.
Instantly, the youths came out of the house and also started shouting that the schoolgirl committed suicide by hanging herself at the room.
However, locals captured three youths identified as Mohammad Sayeedi, Shamim Ahmed and Jewel Miah from the spot. But within an hour, the three youths have remained missing.
Talking to journalist deceased mother said as she went to see off her elder daughter at launch terminal, she kept her younger daughter at her brother-in-law’s house.
 “UP member Mohammad Abdul Hakim’s son Mahfuz and his friends are involved in raping and later murdered my daughter. I want justice,” she cried while talking.
When contacted Meer Khairul Kabir, Officer-in-Charge of Bhola Sadar Police Station said none has come yet to help them for lodging case.
 “We have recovered the body and it has been sent to Bhola Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination to know the reason for the murder,” he said.
Replying to a query, he said if the victim’s family file case, police would go for action against the criminals.
The recent incident of frequent rape triggered a wave of protests across the country, with people demanding an end to the sexual abuse of women.
Earlier the incident of a five-year-old girl sparked outrage throughout the country. Thousands of people protested gender-related violence as the incident of frequent rape and murder continues.
 “I want to feel safe when I’m walking down the street or staying at home, the same as men can,” a college girl student said.
