The Supreme Court administration has suspended two officials for taking bribes, said two separate notifications issued on Friday.
Md Abdur Rashid and Khan Md Serajul Islam, both are administrative officers of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, received bribes while performing duty as Affidavit Commissioners of the High Court Division, read the notifications.
Departmental cases have already been lodged against the suspended officials.
A senior official of the SC administration requesting anonymity told that a team of SC administration in disguise caught Abdur Rashid and Khan Md Serajul Islam red-handed when they were taking bribes from a few lawyer-clerks on Thursday.
One of the suspended took the bribe in cash while another took the bribe through a bKash account, the official said.
The SC official, however, could not confirm how much money Abdur Rashid and Serajul Islam took and what facilities they were providing.
On August 16, the Supreme Court administration released 43 people, 35 lawyer clerks and 8 outsiders, after issuing warnings to them. Earlier, the clerks and the outsiders had been detained for an hour after the drive.
On the same day, Murshedul Hasan, a Bench Officer of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, had been dismissed from his post as per service rules, as the allegations brought in a departmental case have been proved against him, said a statement of the SC.
