The Supreme Court on Wednesday accepted the gazette notification regarding disciplinary rules for the lower court judges.
A five-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by the Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah accepted the gazette notification during hearing of the Masder Hossain case, known as the judiciary separation case and passed the order.
Thus a long-term misunderstanding between the Judiciary and the Executive has been reconciled.
On December 11, the Law Ministry published the gazette on the disciplinary rules for the lower court judges. Later, the Law Ministry submitted the gazette to the apex court.
“The Appellate Division has accepted the gazette notification on disciplinary rules for the lower court judges which was published recently by the government retaining supremacy of the Supreme Court,” the Appellate Division said in the order.
One of the concerned lawyers of this case Barrister M Amir-ul Islam wanted to say something about the gazette in the court. But he did not do that as the gazette had already been accepted.
