SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship Bangladesh take on India in final today

Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s Football team will take on India Under-19 Women’s Football team in the final of the SAFF Under-19 Women’s Championship at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur today. The match kicks-off at 6.00pm.
Coach of Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s Football team Golam Rabbani Choton said, ” We are the reigning champions of this tournament. We want to clinch the championship title this edition. We performed well in the group phase, we want to win the title after showing a better brand of soccer in the final.”
The SAFF Under-18 Women’s Championship started from 2018. Bangladesh emerged the champions by beating Nepal by a solitary goal in Bhutan. Later, the age level of the tournament increased, according to the prescription of Asian Football Confederation and the tournament became SAFF Under-19 Football Championship.
Coach of Indian Under-19 Football team Alex said, ” I don’t think about the past. We want to clinch the title after giving our best effort. Bangladesh are tough opponents and they have a large number of spectators here. The final will be a competitive match. Our team have ability to win the crown.”

Priyanka Devi of India Under-19 Women’s Football team scored the match-decider against Nepal which helped them to move into the final. She had experience to play here in the SAFF Under-15 Championship in 2017.
