Rwanda to import Bangladeshi RMG, pharmaceuticals: Tofail

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday said Rwanda has expressed its keen interest to import Ready Made Garments (RMG), pharmaceuticals and jute products from Bangladesh.
“The government is working to expand export market abroad. The demand for different Bangladeshi products, including RMG, pharmaceuticals, information technology, furniture and jute products, are increasing day by day,” he said this while meeting with Rwandan Non-Resident Ambassador to Bangladesh Ernest Rwamucyo at the Commerce Ministry in the city, said a press release here.
During the meeting, Ernest Rwamucyo said Bangladesh is moving forward by achieving remarkable success in creating demand for apparel products in the world markets.
He informed that Rwanda has taken a decision to import RMG, pharmaceuticals and jute products from Bangladesh as there are a lot of demand for these products in that country.
Tofail said business communities of the two countries will have to take necessary steps in this regard and the Bangladesh government will provide all sorts of supports for making easy the process.
Commerce Secretary Shubhashish Bose was present on the occasion.
