On the occasion of 60th founding anniversary of Faujdarhat Cadet College a three-day programme has been arranged at college. The programme is scheduled to be held from January 18 to 20 under the banner of ‘Diamond Jubilee Reunion.’ It was confirmed by Helal Mukhles Alam, Chairman of Old Faujians Association, on Friday. On second day of the reunion, legendary singer of the Subcontinent Runa Laila will render songs. Runa herself also confirmed the matter.
While talking in this regard Runa Laila told this correspondent, “For the first time I am going to perform in any programme which is to be organized by a cadet college. I wish success of the Faujians. It is really a great pleasure for me to be part of the celebration programme of 60 years of a cadet college.”
Runa Laila last performed in founding anniversary of Officers’ Club on November 20.
Meanwhile, for the first time, Runa Laila is working as music composer and director. She has composed a song for Alamgir directed movie Ekti Cinemar Golpo. Gazi Mazharul Anwar wrote lyrics of the song while it was rendered by Ankhi Alamgir. In 2015, Runa completed 50 years of her music career. She got the National Film Award for giving her voice in Abdul Latif Bachchhu’s movie Jadur Banshi in 1977. Later she received many awards and honours in the field of music.
