Rony tried to enter Kamalapur Railway Station, face rotten eggs

General Railway Police (GRP) have again prevented Mohiuddin Rony from entering the station by blocking the main gate of Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka.
He, along with some young people, went to the station on Saturday to stage a protest against mismanagement and corruption in the railway sector.
When contacted, Rony said, “GRP blocked the main gate of Kamalapur to restrict me from entering the station.”
“I have decided to continue the programme in the front yard of the main gate,” he said.
During their demonstration, a few youths threw rotten eggs on the platform. Though the eggs did not hit Rony, his friend cum supporters came under rotten eggs attack.
One of them said, when we were continuing our protest, sudden a few youths threw rotten eggs to us. The rotten eggs have spreading foul smell in the area.
Earlier in the week, Kamalapur GRP allegedly abused and injured them when Mohiuddin Rony and his fellow protesters tried to enter the station to take position for realizing six points.
Around 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Mohiuddin Rony and his friends took a sitting programme at Shahabag condemning violation of his citizen rights but later around 9.30 pm, he postponed the sitting programme saying that he would continue it at Kamalapur Railway Station.
Mohiuddin Rony, a fourth-year student of the Theatre and Performance Studies Department of the University of Dhaka, has been staging protests at the Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka since July 7, against the mismanagement of the railway department.
He also gave a memorandum to the director general of Bangladesh Railway recently.
