Germania Trest Consortium (GTC), which took over the charge of operating Madhyapara Hard Rock Mine on February (20 May) this year, has started rock production in two shifts to achieve 5,000 tones production target per day.
With the start of second shift on the night of May 18, rock production has so far increased to 2,500 tones from 1,200 tones, said Mir Hannan, General Manager (Marketing) of Madhyapara Granite Mining Company Ltd (MGMCL).
MGMCL signed an agreement with GTC, a Belarus based company, on September 2 last year for mine’s management, maintenance and production. As per the agreement, the company will operate the mine for six year to produce around 9 million tonnes hard rock.
