A readymade garment (RMG) worker was stabbed to death by one of his colleagues at Tongi’s Ershad Nagar in Gazipur district on Thursday morning.
The victim identified as Habibur Rahman, 25, was a resident of the area.
Police have arrested one Nasir on charge of murder, police said. Mohammad Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tongi Police Station, said, “An altercation began between Habibur Rahman and his colleague Nasir over a trifling matter in the morning. At one stage, Nasir stabbed Habibur indiscriminately with a sharp weapon in front of Pacific Garment Factory, leaving him critically injured. Habibur was rushed to Tongi Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shahid Taz Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.
A case was filed in this connection, the OC said.
