A press conference has been held in Rangpur on the occasion of receiving mass-wide income tax returns and for providing information services. Rangpur Tax Region Commissioner Abu Hannan Delwar Hossain organised a press conference at Rangpur Tax Bhaban on Sunday noon.
It was said there that the revenue collected in the Rangpur tax region was Tk 19 crore more than the target set in the last financial year.
In the 2020-2021 financial year, the target was Tk 80 crore. On the other hand, revenue of Tk 69 crore has been collected.
This time the month-long income tax fair is starting from Monday with the target of collecting revenue of Tk 650 crore.
Rangpur Tax Commissioner Abu Hannan Delwar Hossain said 83,263 taxpayers have filed income tax returns in the tax zone Rangpur in the 2020-2021 financial year.
Two lakh 49 thousand 749 taxpayers have received the service. Income tax has been collected for Tk 26 crore 34 lakh 43 thousand 255 rupees.
The total number of taxpayers with TIN is 2 lakh 91 thousand 731 people. Against the target, Tk 69 crore has been collected, which is Tk 19 crore more than the target. The tax commissioner said that the revenue collection from July to September last year was Tk 110 crore.
This year it has gone up to Tk 131 crore, which is Tk 21 crore more than the target. An average of 5,000 new taxpayers are being added every month under the tax zone Rangpur.
All measures have been taken to ensure that taxpayers are not harassed. Action will be taken against those who harass taxpayers.
Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Thakurgaon, Badarganj of Rangpur district except Gaibandha, Parbatipur of Dinajpur, Fulbari, Bochaganj, Pirganj of Thakurgaon district Additional Tax Commissioner Manjur Alam, Assistant Tax Commissioner Syed Nurul Huda and others were also present at the press conference.
