Sona Mia was one of the popular comedy actors in the country’s film arena who debuted his career through movie Mukh O Mukhosh. Later he won hearts of many viewers by virtue of his acting skill. Rehana Jolly is his daughter who is a regular actress in role of mother in the big screen. Since 1985 to till date she has acted in 400 movies.
Rehana Jolly started her acting career through Kamal Ahmed’s movie Maa O Chhele 22 years ago in role of heroine. She was so expert in acting that on the first year of her acting career Rehana Jolly got the National Film Award. As a result, after
getting the national award she became more serious about acting. So she has been engaged with acting having seriousness.
After Maa O Chhele, Rehana Jolly acted
in role of heroine in other movies like Nishpap, Biraj Bou, Prem Protigga, Prayoshchitto, etc. In A J Mintu’s movie Prothom Prem, Rehana Jolly first acted in role of hero’s mother. From that movie to till now she is a common name to act in role of a mother on the screen. She has recognition in this role. When anybody wants to make any movie he/she always think the name of Rehana Jolly to cast her in role of mother. She has already established herself in this role. In any type of challenging mother’s role Rehana Jolly is perfect.
While talking about her acting career Rehana Jolly told this correspondent, “Though my father Sona Mia and brother Black Anwar were engaged with acting but I had to face many hardships to come into my present position. Nobody of my family did not want my acting in the big screen. Only for my interest mother Rabeya Khanom inspired me a lot in this regard. Only for her I have come into this position.”
