A period of about four years has elapsed since Regent Airways, a private sector airline in Bangladesh, was launched on the 10th of November 2010 last.
By now the airline has turned into a good Bangladeshi airline with a fleet of two Boeing 737-700 aircraft having 114 economy class and 12 business class seat configurations, two 50-seated Canadian Bombardier manufacturer made DASH-8 aircraft and one 19-seat DASH amphibian aircraft used by only SAVRON officials working in the gas fields of Sylhet.
With its fleet of five aircraft and work force of 300 employees, Regent Airways has a good aircraft: employee ratio of 1: 60 with a scope of employing more work force for better service and profitability-the optimum aircraft: employee ratio being considered as 1: 200.
At the moment, Regent Airways operates air services on Dhaka-Chittagong-Dhaka in the domestic route in the domestic sector and Dhaka-Kolkata, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore routes in the international sector.
Asked why they have huge dues of Taka 270 million to be paid to Civial Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Regent Airways Assistant Manager, Sales and Marketing, Md. Aminul Hoque while talking to this correspondent in the morning on September 12 (Saturday) last said, “Much of outstanding dues of CAAB have by now been cleared.
“We hope it to be fully cleared soon,” he added.
