In the 6th phase, electronic voting machine-EVM system has been set up in 7 unions of ShibalayaUpazila for the uninterrupted power supply in the elections held on Monday.
Abdur Rashid Mridha, Senior General Manager Engineer of Manikganj Palli Bidyut Samiti, said the upazila has 843 km long power lines. Among the 50,047 customers of various types, there are 43,044 residential, 5,615 commercial and 47 charitable, 697 irrigation, 324 industrial and 119 other customers. 12 MW power is required in winter to ensure round the clock power. Note that 19 MW of electricity is required in summer.
