Tonu’s murderers must not get away
On March 20, Sohagi Jahan Tonu, a student of Comilla Victoria College was raped and brutally murdered inside Comilla cantonment, a most secured place. Till now police failed to make any headway about the heinous crime, her body was exhumed for fresh autopsy. It reminds us of the case of Sagar-Runi whose bodies were also dug up from their graves to find clues but four years have passed, police could not arrest the murderers.
Shah Abid Hossain, Superintendent of Comilla Police said to the British news service about the place of the crime. “The body was only dumped there (inside the cantonment area). We are sure about it.”
We are puzzled, how could be he so sure about it? Who would have such guts to dump a body inside a cantonment? We are skeptical about the truth ever coming out, just like the case of Sagar-Runi.
