Feed the hungry
We try to finish our duty offering Prayers, five times a day, keeping fast in Ramadan every year, paying Zakat, visiting Mecca once in a life and inviting misguided men and women to the right track. But this is not enough and that is why the Prophet Muhammad (SM) said: Feed the hungry, take care of the patient and release the (innocent) prisoners. The Prophet has even banned cutting hand of a thief if his family has no other earning member.
Allah enjoins to feed and maintain the men of weak understanding (who are unable to work or misuse property) and speak kind words to them (Ref: Surah An-Nisa, Verse No. 5).
We read in the Hadith-e-Qudsi that Allah has tagged feeding the hungry, clothing the clotheless, giving shelter to the wayfarers and showing kindness to the poor, among others, with prayer as condition of success.
But sadly, we do not hear these important aspects of Islam from the Muslim intellectuals and leaders of Islam oriented political parties. They do not ask the State as well as organizations and individuals to execute the command of the Prophet and Allah. No deviation will be excused on the Day of Resurrection.
