To the respected editors
Letters to the Editor is the platform through which private persons express their views, offer suggestions, vent their grievances, demand solutions of many problems. People, the letter writes in particular, look upon it as the voice of the public.
But with great disappointment, we are noticing that this platform is shrinking day by day. One or two letters are being published and words are being limited. In the past news papers used to have a full page dedicated to it, with relevant pictures accompanying those.
People are not getting their due importance from the government and we hoped that the newspapers will help them in this respect.
One has to write on the same subject until the government takes steps to solve the issues, but often the learned Editors think it’s unnecessary to publish letters on same subject repeatedly. But we think that one should persist until the goal is achieved.
We hope, the respected editors would see reasons in it and allow the letter writers to ventilate their minds on public interest issues.
