Martial art in cinema
There are massive demands for martial art based movies all over the world. That is why the film producers of the western countries give special attention to the actors and actresses expert in martial art. Bangladeshi film producers had an opportunity to exploit the given facilities as we have Rubel, Dani Didak, Siraj Panna, Ilyas Cobra, Sancho Panja, Kabir khan, Chinese, Brucly, Misha Sawdagar, Alexander Bo, Jahangir Alam and many others.
In this regard, I want to mention the name of Sohel Rana along with Jahangir Alam opened the door to martial art in Bangladeshi movies.
But sadly the film producers and the directors have failed to utilise the skills of these actors. There is no doubt that ‘Laraku’ acted by Rubel and Dani Sidak is really a martial art based movie. Amazingly after that the use of martial art was constricted instead of widening although the box office received good response.
In many movies, there are scenes of fighting but that could not satisfy the cine-audiences.
It is because the Bangladeshi cine audiences are accustomed to watching the Chinese and Hong Kong movies very often. We think that it is possible to make thrilling movies if the film producers are sincere. In this connection, they may form a syndicate to proceed on.
