A bad decision affects adversely

The emergence of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) was a landmark in the political arena of the country. The three popular slogans of the party were Biplav Biplav Samajik Biplav (Revolution, Revolution Social Revolution), Sangram Sangram Sreni Sangram (Struggle, Struggle Class Struggle) and Aamader Lakkhya Baigyanik Samajtantra (Our goal is Scientific Socialism).
Before the JSD came into being in September 1972, the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was split into the Rab-Siraj and the Siddique-Makhan groups. Within a short time, BCL (Rab-Siraj) with Marxists slogans established its supremacy in about 80 percent colleges and universities.
The slogans are surely the Marxists slogans. The youths were proud of being faithful cadres of Marxism. But the JSD leadership could neither save their valuable lives nor could forge unity with the existing leftist parties.
Gradually the party became weak to weaker, faced split several times despite the fact that its student front remained the most powerful. In truth, if leaders lack prudence and distrust one another, progress is never possible.
Finally, I like to say that the formation of Gano Bahini was not a good decision. I feel for Colonel Taher, Bir Uttam. Will the JSD leaders say anything?
