For an acceptable election :
Political parties in Bangladesh are preparing for the next general election, though we are still smarting from the voter less election of 2014.
People are the main force. They will elect the next government, but we have noticed that their demands are being overlooked. Those who are in power take all the decisions. Here are some demands of the people which are being put forward. First, people want the election to be held under a neutral government. Secondly, they want an election commission, which is strong and capable and can act ‘without fear or favour’. Thirdly, EVM must not be used, as people do not want to cast their votes in that way.
Fourth and finally, Armed Forces must be deployed during the election period and law-enforcing agents must be on guard so that everyone will be able to cast their votes without any hindrance.
We hope people’s demands will be met and we will have a faultless election.
