A good decision

The Bangladesh Government will send troops to defend Mecca and Medina, two holy cities of the world, against foreign invasion. It is a good decision indeed and we congratulate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for it.
We know from history that Mecca was attacked thrice and Medina twice in the past. Abraha, ruler of Abyssinia, an African country, sent a large army before the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SM) to obliterate Mecca, but his evil mission was foiled as we read in the Quran, Sura Al-Fil.
In the year 683 A.D., tyrant Yazid, son of Muawiyah, Umayyad ruler, sent troops and they pillaged the town of Medina; and the burning of the Kaaba during siege. In 691 A.D. The Umayyad troops under Commander al-Hajjaj bombarded the city of Mecca with catapults from Mount Abu Qubays, not letting up even during the hajj; even the Ka’aba was not spared, despite the presence of the assembled pilgrims. So, the future invasion cannot be ruled out and the Bangladesh Government took the right decision.

Reviving Football

block

It is really sad that the Bangladesh Football Federation has apparently no plan to bring back audience in the football stadium and that is why the football matches regardless of their rank are held almost in empty stadium.
Although the Federation Cup Football 2017 has reached the last eight, there are no thrills, no hectic debate, no storm on the galleries and no romance. In the eighties, we had to fight for tickets, and today none hassle for tickets.
However, Abahani KC, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Rahamatganj FMS, Brothers Union, Mohammedan SC, Chittagong Abahani, SJ Dhanmandi Club and Sheikh Russel KC will now fight for four semifinal berths.
