Rotary Club of Rangpur (RCR) extended financial assistance to twenty arson victim patients, now undergoing treatments at the burn unit of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH), on Monday afternoon.
Led by immediate past President of RCR Fazlul Haque and its incumbent President Abul Kashem, a delegation of the volunteer organisation visited the burn unit and handed over Taka 1.50 lakh to the burn victim patients as assistance.
All of the burn victim patients were burnt after the miscreants hurled petrol bombs on buses, trucks and other vehicles during the blockade enforced by the BNP-Jamaat-led 20-party alliance at different places in the region in recent times.
Rotarians AKM Khairul Islam, Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Mostafa Ahmed, Abdul Kudus, ATM Shahnewaz Bablu, Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, Azizul Islam Mintu, Admalun Haque, Osman Ali, Guynkunju Roy, Partho Ghosh, Dr Yasmin Ara Haque Chandona, Abu Bakar Bari and Abhjit Roy were present.
After visiting the arson victims, the Rotarians strongly condemned subversive activities, killing innocent people through hurling petrol bombs, anarchy, terrorism and destruction and called for socially boycotting those elements behind these heinous acts.
They also demanded immediate arrests of the criminals behind the petrol bomb attacks and called upon the doctors for ensuring best treatments to the burn victim patients at the burn unit of RMCH and prayed for their early recovery.
