Question paper ring members give sensational informations to CID

Members of the question paper forgery ring have given some sensational informations to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police about the leaked question papers of the admission test at medical and dental colleges.
Evidence of involvement of about 200 people of the ring has already reached the CID, an investigation officer said.
This information has come from the country’s top online news portal. The CID got such information after arresting three members of the gang. Among the 200 candidates who were admitted to various government’s medical and dental colleges through forgery. The names of some of the students have also been known, CID sources added.
The CID also found the illegal assets of the members of the ring who leaked the question papers continuously. It has been found that Jasim, the ringleader of the gang, had two houses and a car in the city.
Earlier, after his arrest on July 20, the CID informed that Jasim had a savings certificate worth Tk 2.27 crore and a check for Tk 2.30 crore. Besides, CID received a check of Tk 84 lakh from Parvez.
CID officers said that medical and dental admission test question papers were leaked through the ring since 2013.
The ring has bagged around Tk 50 crore from the business from 2013 to 2018, said CID officials.
CID Cybercrime Unit Special Police Superintendent SM Ashraful Alam said that there were allegations for long that the employees of DGHS and BG Press were involved with question leaking.
He also said that they were trying to find out all the people involved in the offence.
He, however, declined to disclose names of the suspects while an investigation was running.
Police however, also filed a case with the Mirpur Police Station recently mentioning names of 14 people and around 150-200 more unnamed people.
