UNB, Dhaka :Quantum Foundation clinched the Marcel LED Television First Division Handball League crown with all win record beating Flame Boys Club by 33-25 goals in the title-deciding last match at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansoor Ali National Handball Stadium on Monday.Quantum Foundation led the keenly contested first half 15-14.By virtue of the day’s feat, Quantum Foundation team, formed with tribal school players of Bandarban, secured full 18 points from six league matches and earned the right to play in the Premier Division Handball League from next season.With the day’s first defeat, Flame Boys Club finished runners-up with 15 points. Vemramolum scored eight goals and Dalliana Khum netted seven for the champions while Afridi contributed the match highest 12 goals for the runners-up. Later, Dalliana Khum was adjudged the best player of the tournament.Secretary of National Sports Council Shibnath Roy witnessed the day’s final as chief guest and distributed the prizes at the closing function, chaired by Bangladesh Handball Federation President AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul.Additional Director of RB Group (Walton) FM Iqbal Bin Anwar, Handball Federation vice president Mahtabuddin Ahmed, general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, league committee chairman Mahbubuzzman and league committee secretary M Ayub Ali were present.ATN Bangla telecast the match live.
