Quantum Foundation became champions of the Cute Premier Handball League defeating Old Ideals by 40-15 goals in their last match of the League at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Tuesday.
The winners led the first half by 19-7 goals.
Quantum Foundation gained 24 points from nine matches.
In the day’s second match, Arambagh Krira Sangha overcame Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club by 77-14 goals at the same venue.
The winners had 39-7 goals lead in the first session.
In the day’s third match, Narinda Progoti Boys Club beat Prime Sporting Club by 46-38 goals at the same venue.
The victorious team led the first half 25-21.
Arambagh Krira Sangha and Narinda Progoti Boys Club collected 22 points each from their respective nine matches but by virtue of better goal difference Arambagh Krira Sangha emerged as the runners-up of the competition.
After the matches, President of Bangladesh Olympic Association and former chief of Bangladesh Army General (Retd) Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Chairman of Mousumi Industries Limited Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol was with him as the special guest.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) Hasan Ullah Khan Rana, Vice-President of BHF Md Nurul Islam, General Secretary of BHF Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Chairman of the League Committee and Deputy-Commissioner (Force & Welfare) of DMP ABM Masud Hossain, Secretary of the League Committee Md Jahangir Hossain were present at the time.
