Purbachal to be livable by 2019: Minister

Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim on Saturday said that the Purbachal satellite town would be made inhabitable by this year (2019).
“We are working heart and soul to facilitate the plot owners with all basic needs so that they can live in the residential town by this year (2019). The satellite town will be made a residential area in this year,” said the minister to the journalists after visiting Purbachal area.
Earlier on the day, the minister visited development work of Purbachal satellite town and 100 feet wide canal digging project besides the Kuril-Purbachal link Road.
The minister said that he had been thinking since the day of his oath taking as to how to serve the duties speedily.
He said, the government is in zero tolerance about corruption.
SM Rezaul Karim said, everyone in the cabinet tries to bring speed in their work.
“The government has taken decision that everyone will do his own duties sincerely. None should delay to reach the goal.
“To implement this decision, I am here in the satellite town. I have also visited sites in Savar, Naryangonj and Chattogram immediately,” he said.
The minister said also, “I have warned every responsible official in the zones to end the development work soon. No one will be spared from punishment if they prolong the development work.”
He said that he had asked the officials of the projects to work to eliminate waste in time. They are also under pressure to make the drains wide so that there will be no water stagnant in the city.
He said, there is huge pressure from us to the relevant officials to end the work in time. The minister said, he is working hard to achieve the target.
