A human chain was formed on Bagerhat-Pirojpur local Highway at Badhal Bazar under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Monday morning demanding the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of all the members of the rapists who committed rape with a girl student (14) of Class-VIII in a village of Kachua Upazila.
It was participated by the teachers and students of a good number of educational institutions, Awami League leaders and the locals.
They barricaded the highway and demonstrated against this inhuman act done by the gang rapists for long one hour. The human chain was addressed among others by Najma Sarwar, Vice-chairman of Kachua Upazila Parishad, Nakib Najibul Haq Naju, Organizing Secretary of Bagerhat district Awami League, Saiful Islam Khokon, Upazila, President of Kachua Upazila Awami League, Nakib Faisal Ohid, Chairman of Badhal Union Parishad, School teacher Sunayana Mondol, students Krisna Das and Faruq Hossain. The speakers told, the victim girl student was not only gang raped but also she was tortured both physically and mentally by the rapists.
The speakers also told, if all the rapists are not arrested immediately by the concerned authorities they (speakers) will be compelled to take more serious action.
