The people of Baufal of Patuakhali have demanded with drawl of trolley cars from the roads of Baufal after a college teacher was killed in a collision with an illegal trolley.
in response to this demand, people from all walks of life in Baufal organized a human chain, road blockade and protest rally in front of Baufal Press Club at 11 am yesterday under the banner of ‘Socheton Nagoric Somaj ‘(Conscious Civil Society)
According to the demand, no vehicles were allowed to run on the main road of Baufal from 11:30 am to 12 noon. President of Baufal Press Club Kamruzzaman Bachchu, Vice-President Manzur Morshed, Secretary Ahiduzzaman Duke, Senior Journalist ABM Mizanur Rahman, Jalilur Rahman, President of Baufal Textile Traders Association Abul Kalam, Secretary Asaduzzaman Sohag, Gautam, Teacher’s leader Head Master Monzur Morsed and Moynul Islam spoke at the protest rally.
Speakers at the rally demanded to local leaders, including Assam Firoz MP, and the administration to take necessary steps to stop the movement of illegal trolleys on the roads of Baufal.
It is to be noted that on 18/01/2021, a popular college teacher named Syed Sarwar Hossain was killed in a collision with a trolley vehicle at Baufal Municipal Headquarters and this illegal trolley vehicle has claimed many more lives at different times.
