Promoting industrialisation in Rangpur stressed

Leaders of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) have stressed on promoting investment and industrialisation in the private sector to further accelerate economic development in Rangpur region.
They made the view in the annual general meeting (AGM) -2016 of RCCI held at RCCI auditorium here on Thursday with RCCI President Md Abul Kashem in the chair.

Chowdhury Titu, its former Senior Vice-president Mostoba Hossain Ripan, and incumbent and former Directors of RCCI took part in the open discussion.
The discussants stressed on bringing more dynamism in accelerating RCCI activities, setting up more industries, flourishing trade and business to create job opportunities for unemployed youths to accelerate economic advancement of Rangpur region.
RCCI President said “RCCI will continue to extend cooperation to the businesspersons for preserving their business related interests”. He sought continuous assistance of the businessmen in ensuring congenial atmosphere for running their businesses. He said that the RCCI would continue its efforts along with the government and regional initiatives to attain sustainable development in Rangpur region through flourishing private sector initiatives.
Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostafa Ahmed, its Vice-president Mozammel Haque Dambel, Directors Habibur Rahman Raja, Azizul Islam Mintu, Enamul Haque Sohel, Moazzem Hossain Lablu, Akbar Ali, Rabiul Islam Mridul, Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Zaved Hassan, Ramakrishna Somani and former executive committee members and directors, general and associate members were present.
Govt. reaching services to common people using ICT
The present government has been reaching services easily at doorsteps of the common people utilising the information and communication technology (ICT) in the process of building a middle income nation.
Government officials said this while addressing concluding ceremony of the daylong Divisional Innovation Circle (Rangpur Chapter) meeting held at conference room of the Divisional Commissioner in the city on Thursday afternoon. Office of the Divisional Commissioner, Cabinet Division and Access to Information (A2I) Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) jointly arranged the divisional level innovation circle meeting.
Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners (Education & ICT), Upazila Nirbahi Officers, Members of District Innovation Teams and officials of government departments from eight districts under Rangpur division attended the event.
Additional Secretary (District and Field Administration) of the Cabinet Division Md. Maksudur Rahman Patwary addressed the meeting as the chief guest with Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hassan Ahmed in the chair. Capacity Development Specialist of the A2I Programme Manik Mahmud attended the meeting as the special guest.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Minu Shill, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Abdul Mazid, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police for Rangpur Range Bashir Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Rahat Anwar, addressed, among others.
Manik Mahmud narrated about the success of nurturing innovative
thoughts, ideas and innovations by the public administration in reaching services to the common people, its progress and necessary steps taken for attaining more success. The Deputy Commissioners discussed on progress achieved by their respective Innovation Team in providing services to the common people using social media and other innovative methods and their future annual action plans.
The chief guest called upon the officials for creating involvement of common people with activities of all government offices to meet their increasing demand of improved services by innovating and adopting newer concepts to make them happier than before.
He mentioned that the field level government departments already started reaching services to the common people using social media as an effective tool breaking red tape complexity to institutionalise the culture of innovation and knowledge sharing.
