Members of Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad, a platform for pro-liberation lawyers, on Saturday reiterated the need for remaining united for the greater interest of country and its people.
“This is a forum for the lawyers those believe in the spirit of Liberation War. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina has formed Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad by bringing all the pro-liberation lawyers under one roof. So we have to remain united for the interest of the country and its people,” they said.
They came up with the observations while addressing a general meeting of the forum at Awami League central office this morning. The meeting was presided over by its convener Adv Yusuf Hossain Humayun and conducted by its member secretary Barrister Fazle Noor Tapash, MP.
The meeting was also addressed by Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim, former food minister Adv Qamrul Islam, senior jurists Abdul Baset Mazumder, Syed Rezaur Rahman, Adv Sahara Khatun, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, AFM Mesbah Uddin, Supreme Court Bar Association president AM Amin Uddin, former state minister Adv Shamsul Haque Tuku, and Adv Abdullah Abu, among others.
“Lawyers got united and resisted move to hatch conspiracy marking the verdict to scrap 16th amendment to constitution.

They also played active role in national polls,” said Barrister Tapash, adding, “All should remain united under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
