Nurul Hasan hits century: Prime Bank beat Rupganj by 60 runs

Nurul Hasan’s century helped Prime Bank Cricket Club register their 3rd win in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League as they beat Legends of Rupganj by 60 runs in the 7th round match at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) Ground-3 on Monday.
Replying to a formidable total of 299 runs, Rupganj collected 239 for all in 45.5 overs with Indian batsman Jalaj Sahai Saxena making 52 off 84 balls, including four boundaries, as the opening batsman.
Asif Ahmed was another notable scorer for Rupganj with 47 off 45 balls that included five boundaries and one six.
Sachin Rana bagged four wickets for 37 runs in 8 overs while pacer Rubel Hossain and Nazmul Islam took two wickets each for 24 and 44 runs respectively.
Sent in to bat first, defending champions PBCC scored 299 for 9 in 50 overs spurred by the Nurul Hasan’s century of 108 runs and Mehedi Maruf’s half century of 75 runs.
After the dismissal of opener Mehedi Maruf at 119/3 in 17.4 overs, Nurul Hasan stayed with Sachin Rana for 98 runs in 20.4 overs in the 4th wicket to carry the team total to 217/4 in 38.2 overs before S Rana was bowled out off Alauddin Babu.
Nurul Hasan was caught by Soumya Sarkar off Nahidul Islam bowling at 285/7 in 47.4 overs facing 112 balls to feature seven boundaries and two sixes. He was adjudged man of the match for his batting performance.
Mehedi Maruf fired nine boundaries and three sixes off 64 balls and was caught by Nahidul Islam off Asif Ahmed bowling.
S Rana scored 40 off 59 balls with two boundaries while Taibur Rahman added 25 runs.
Nahidul Islam, Alauddin Babu, Asif Ahmed and Mosharraf Hossain bagged two wickets each for 38, 45, 49 and 52 runs respectively.
Despite the day’s loss, Rupganj are staying ahead of the PBCC collecting nine points with four wins, two losses and one tie. PBCC collected eight points with four wins and three losses.
