A pregnant housewife was killed allegedly by her husband over a family feud at Khagaura village in Nabiganj upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Refat Begum,25, wife of Raihan Uddin of the village.
Mother of a three-year-old son, she was ¾ months’ pregnant.
Liakat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Nabiganj Police Station, said Raihan had picked up a quarrel with his wife Refat over a family feud and beat her up mercilessly, leaving her dead on the spot around 11:30 pm. Later he set the body on fire by pouring kerosene on it.
Being informed, police recovered the charred body of Refat from the toilet of her house in the next morning.
