The power supply in several areas of Gopalganj, Khulna and Bagerhat districts was cut off since 7:00 am on Friday. The power supply will also be cut off in the same way on Saturday.
Connection of 132 KV main bus of Gopalganj 132/33 KV grid sub-station has been cut off due to various reasons including change of conductor, transfer of power station and connection to the newly constructed bus.
A press release signed by Helaluddin, executive engineer of Faridpur Power Division, had earlier said that the power connection would be cut off.
The press release of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited has informed that annual
maintenance including changing in the conductor of 132 KV main bus of Gopalganj 132/33 KV grid sub-station, handing over the power station, constructing the extended part of the bus to the old part and 132 KV grid substation to 400 KV will be done. As a result, the power supply will be cut off from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday and from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday in Gopalganj, Mollahat in Bagerhat and Terkhada in Khulna.
The press release further said that Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited sincerely apologizes for the temporary inconvenience caused to the people in these areas. At the same time, everyone’s cooperation has been sought.
