A poultry farm named Bandhu Poultry farm belonging to Rubel, Enayet and Salam of village Tengrakhali under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district was partially gutted when some alleged miscreants set fire on it at Wednesday night.
It is learnt from the owners of the farm that at the night (at about 8 pm) they supplied poultry feed to the poultries in the farm as their routine work and went to a nearby tea stall to take tea. In the mean time some alleged miscreants set fire on it and fled away. The fire spread to the entire farm within a very short time. On seeing the flame of fire the villagers rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after a long fighting for half an hour. But in spite of that the poultry farm was partially gutted and several thousand poultries were roasted alive. The loss of fire was primarily estimated at about Taka 4 lakh. In this connection a written complaint was lodged with Kachua PS.
