Today is the first day of New Year. On the beginning of New Year, National Film Award winner actress Sadika Parvin Poppy is going to work in a new movie titled Sahoshi Joddha under Sadeque Siddiqui’s direction. From January 20 Poppy will start shooting of her part. For the first time, Poppy played in role of a custom official in the big screen.
While talking about her new movie Poppy told this correspondent, “For the first time, I am going to act under Sadeque Siddiqui Bhai’s direction. I have liked the story and my role in the movie. I am preparing myself in role of custom official because it is a challenging role. I have to perform properly to portray my role in the movie. Earlier I did not work in such role. So, it is important to make it successful during shooting.”
But who will act against Poppy in this movie yet not confirmed. Poppy also informed that within very short days she will start shooting of Shahidul Haque Khan’s movie Turn.
On the first day of New Year Poppy will pass time with her family. She said, “Family gets priority to me first. So, I always prefer to pass time with my family when gets time. I wish alls success specially for my fans and well-wishers. I request them to go to cinema halls to enjoy movies because good movies are being made now. For the survival of Bangladeshi movies everybody should come forward in this regard.”
Poppy acted last released movie was Jahangir Alam Sumon’s Sona Bondhu. She got the National Film Awards three times for acting in Kalam Kaiser’s movie Karagar, Nargis Akter’s Megher Koley Rode and Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond’s Gangajatra. Poppy informed that her acted three movies – Shortcutey Borolok, Jibon Jontrona and Dui Bhaiyer Juddho – are awaiting release soon.
