Before the fourth phase of the West Bengal Assembly Election 2021, police filed a case against popular film actress Srabanti Chatterjee under the non-bailable section. Srabanti Chatterjee, a BJP candidate from Behala West, surrounded the Pornshree police station with party workers and supporters over the incident on Thursday. She even got into an argument with the police. After that, Srabonti went out alone and did a road show with BJP workers without the permission of the police. As a result, this time, the star candidate of BJP has to face legal trouble. Police allege that Srabanti staged a road show in Behala without permission. In that context, a case has been filed against her and several other BJP workers. Allegations have been leveled against the star candidate, including obstruction of police work and illegal gatherings. The Election Commission has summoned a self-motivated report 48 hours before the election process. During the siege of the police station, Srabanti complained, “Police are talking on the phone inside the police station. The OC did not come even once after standing still for the last one hour. The police are deliberately not allowing us to bail at the last minute. We want an answer as to why
we were not allowed. Mithunda called me.”
