Chittagong Metropolitan Police ( CMP) arrested three members of an organized ornament-theft gang along with 16 Bhori gold ornament after conducting separate drives in the city on Friday night.The gang members were Mohammad Mizanur Rahman,24, hailed from Sandwip upazila , Abdul Karim,24, hailed from Anwara Upazila and Mohammad Rubel, 21, hailed from Banskhali upazila of the district, a CMP press release said. Acting on a tip-off, a team of CMP detective branch nabbed Mizanur along with 16 Bhori gold ornaments from Kazir Dweri area last night and on the basis of his confession, the team arrested Karim and Rubel from Chittagong WASA gate in the city later.
The a rrestees have been sent to court custody yesterday, sources said.
