Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the construction work of Information Bhaban project at Circuit House road in the city on August 6.
Once constructed, the building will contribute a lot towards building digital Bangladesh and achieving vision 2021, said a PID handout. The government says it is a much-desired project for information officers and mass media people.
The 16-storey building will have offices of three directorates under the Information Ministry, film library, research centre, film projection hall, auditorium and modern information library. It will be constructed on 38 acres of land with an estimated cost of Tk 60 crore.
