Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death Sylhet-3 MP Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, who is also vice president of AL Sylhet district unit.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Awami League MP Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury passed away on Thursday at a city hospital at the age of 66.
“Mahmud Us Samad MP died from Covid-19 at United Hospital,” Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Md Atiur Rahman Atik told UNB.
The three-time MP was receiving treatment at the hospital since Sunday and he was tested for Covid-19 on Monday and the report came positive.
