PM joins Akheri Munajat from Ganobhaban

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday joined the Akheri Munajat of the 55th Biswa Ijtema from her official residence Ganobhaban.
The first phase of the world’s 2nd largest Muslim congregation after holy Hajj ended on the banks of the Turag River at Tongi through the Akheri Munajat.
Prime Minister’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana also took part in the munajat along with her.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and

officials and employees of the Prime Minister’s Office and Ganobhaban were also there.
A special prayer was offered seeking continued peace, progress and welfare of the country as well as the greater unity of the Muslim Ummah.
Maulana Zubair Hassan, Bangladeshi leader of Tabligh Jamaat, conducted the 35-minute prayers both in Bangla and Arabic languages.
In the three-day congregation, noted ulema-mashaykhs in their sermons called for following the guidance of holy Quran and Sunnah. The sermons were translated into different languages.
The second phase of the Ijtema is scheduled to begin on January 17 at the same venue and it will end on January 19.
