UNB, Chittagong :
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday distributed financial assistance among people affected in attacks by BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men after February last year.
She handed over the family savings certificates at a simple ceremony held at the Naval Berth of the BNS Naval base Isa Khan.
A number of 25 family members of 19 victims, who were killed by BNP and Jamaat-Shibir men in between January 2013 to February 2014, received the financial assistance of Tk 10 lakh for each victim.
The Prime Minister talked to the recipients of the savings certificates and consoled them.
Water Resources Minister Anusul Islam Mahmud, State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed, senior AL leaders, local MPs and civil and military high officials were, among others, present.
