President urges lawyers: Play due role in judiciary

Mentioning that the role of lawyers is very important in disposing of cases, President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday urged them to work with sincerity so that people may get justice quickly.
The President made the call when a 10-member delegation of Bangladesh Bar Council met him at Bangabhaban.
Members of the Bar Council delegation include its Chairman and Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam, Vice Chairman Abdul Baset Majumder, Abdul Matin Khasru, SM Rezaul Karim, ZI Khan Panna and Kazi Nazibullah Hiru.
During the meeting, Abdul Baset Majumder apprised the President of the activities
of the Bar Council and highlighted various steps taken for the welfare of lawyers.
President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
President Hamid said the role of Bar Council is also very important in the judiciary, and hoped that its present leadership would be able to play its due role for the welfare of lawyers.
The delegation sought the President’s cooperation in development of the Bangladesh Bar Council. Secretaries concerned to the President Office were present.
